I took bus day-trips to the supermarket. I wanted enough little spit-out-red-machine coupons to fulfill this week’s grocery list, without actually paying a single penny on my part. It was a dream, yes. But I dream big. I spotted a seat in the far right; closest to the window and shuffled my coupons quietly between my fingers. Draping them delicately in between the little spot between your thumb and fore finger, those slots that make your hands more like architecture. That which we do not recognize because we all have them. And we don’t often admire the buildings we exist in everyday. Architecture examples include: doorways, window sills, stair cases, coat racks, closet spaces, and all of these being places to put things, I was surprised that no one had ever thought to put a thought there.
”..10 cents off toilet bowl cleaner”
“and Hey! Buy one get one free pepperoni pizza rolls.”
I giggled to myself, and felt that kind of fire that presses through your palms while holding lottery tickets, gift receipts, or airfare.
Although I had never held those.
